Patara Prince / Club Patara
Club Patara is a remarkable resort and bears testimony to the prize-winning architectural vision that created it. An enchanted haven amid lush topical gardens, the small select hotel and surrounding villas are adorned with many coloured bouganvilla and other plants of every description. Palm fringed walkways and immaculate lawns interspersed with tropical fruit trees fill the air with perfume and shower the ground with blossom.
The resort is secured by a gated enclosure and protected by 24 hour security services.
A free all-day shuttle-bus service runs regularly within the resort and a glass elevator provides easy access to all shoreline facilities. A private boat operates from the jetty between May and October to ferry club visitors across the bay to Kalkan harbour or a taxi will be there in a flash to take you into town by road.
Four swimming pools offer a choice of filtered sea water or fresh water both indoor and open air. One is dedicated for adults only and another has a water-slide especially for children. As an alternative to poolside relaxation you may choose from the numerous promontories cut into the rocky shoreline of the resort's 200m seafront to sunbathe in private seclusion, then freshen up in the warm sparkling turquoise waters of the bay flushed with fresh spring water from the Taurus mountains.
For more energetic pursuits, visit the well equipped gymnasium and the water sports centre which offers scuba diving, snorkelling, windsurfing and waterskiing. For those with any energy left, the volleyball and tennis courts beckon whilst the sauna and Hammam (Turkish Bath) offer a less active alternative. Thankfully, the beauty and massage parlour and unisex hairdressing salon provide a recovery lifeline.
Early evening is the time to relax on the terrace with a cool drink and watch the procession of boats return to harbour followed by a spectacular sunset, a cloudless starlit sky and the twinkling lights of Kalkan beckoning you into town for another sparkling evening. Alternatively, the hotel staff will be pleased to provide room service for private dining in your villa and baby sitting may be arranged upon request.
Elegant dining in the panoramic Patara restaurant or enjoying a sumptuous buffet at the Appollonia seaside restaurant are two of the four resort options for dining out and the Piano Bar and Disco provide entertainment for the evening.
Local Attractions & Activities
Voted the world's finest natural sandy beach, the protected coastline at Patara is truly spectacular and well worth a trip to enjoy sea, sand and sun. Other marvels of nature may be seen at Saklikent Gorge, Butterfly Valley and the more distant Olu Deniz.
The historical sites of Xanthos, Patara, Olympus and the sunken cities of Kekova & Myra are a few of the many remains from previous civilizations which offer a fascinating insight into Turkey's archaeological history.
Hire a car for the day or longer at very reasonable rates. There are several local firms to choose from or a dolmus minibus service will take you from Kalkan to other coastal towns and villages in the area. Patara, Kas and Fethiye are on their timetable.
For a stunning meal and view, drive 8 kms up into the pine-forested mountain behind Kalkan to Islamlar where you can eat fresh grilled mountain trout at Mahmout’s place. You sit in an open-air sheltered wooden restaurant atop a mountain looking down the valley to the sea in the distance. The food and the view are spectacular, well worth the trip.
In addition to the many facilities that are available within the resort, The Club hotel staff will be pleased to arrange outside excursions such as private or shared gulet cruises, horse riding jaunts, safaries, hiking, rafting and paragliding.
